* Late arrivals before 2:30AM, please check with Kuo-Kuang airport Bus, get off at the Main Train Station(Taipei Main Station), then take a taxi to the hostel (around NT$100-150).
By taxi to WSH hostel is about NT$1200-2000 from the Airport.
* We accept cash in Taiwan Dollar upon arrival when checking in at the hostel. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer credit card payments at the moment. Apologies for the inconvenience.
* Cash exchange rates at the airport are as good as the banks in Taipei City.
There are several international ATMs near the hostel at which you may withdraw cash also.

From International Taoyuan Airport:
There is an airport bus (AM 05:30-00:20 everyday) to Taipei Main Station from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport called “Guo-Guang Airport Express Bus(國光號機場巴士) . It will take about 55 minutes to get to the city. The price is NT$125.
Please get off at the terminal -Taipei Main Station (台北車站) , then take a taxi (NT$100-150) or subway( MRT ) to the hostel.
World Scholar House is 5 minute, south-West of Taipei Main Station — the 1st MRT stop on the blue line (west bound) .
There are two MRT stations close to the Hostel:
(1) Xi-men Station(西門捷運站) on Blue Line (West bound);
(2) Xiao-nan-men Station (小南門捷運站) on Yellow Line(South bound)

Subway From Taipei Main Station to WSH hostel:
Option 1: World Scholar House is about 5 minutes from the Main Train Station. It’s the 1st stop “Xi-men” on MRT Blue line(West bound).
A 10-minute walk from MRT Xi-men Station:
World Scholar House is few blocks from Xi-men station, take exit 2, walk straight down (south) on Zhong-hua Raod section 2, passing Taipei Garden Hotel and Taipei City Hospital, turn left into Lane 39, then turn right on the second alley to Alley 1, continue to house No.15 to your right. We are on the 2nd floor. The Hostel is marked on the buzzer board by the door. Help yourself in (the front door is usually closed, not locked). If the front door is locked, buzz us(2F- 5F) and we will let you in.
Option 2: continue on MRT route from Xi-men Station/blue line, change to MRT Yellow line towards “Tai Power building” (south bound). Then get off at the first stop — “Xiao-nan-men Station (小南門站 ), take exit 2, follow map, walk 3 minutes to the hostel.

1. How far is the hostel from the train/bus station?

(10 minute walk from Xi-men西門町 – 1st MRT stop west of Taipei Main Station on Bule line )
–The Main Train Station consists of the MRT (subway), High Speed Rail and the Train Main Station. The Main Bus Terminal is in the same area.
There are two MRT stations near the hostel.
- Blue LineXi-men station (西門捷運站)” which is a 10- minute walk from the hostel,and
- Xiaonanmen(小南門捷運站) /Yellow line, a 5-minute walk.
- A 10-minute walk from MRT Xi-men Station:

2. How do I pay you in advance? Can you send me a receipt? Or a certificate of reservation?
–WHS will send you a reservation confirmation to confirm your booking via email.
Based on mutual trust, you may pay in cash (Taiwan dollar) upon arrival.
We cannot accept credit card payments.

- How far are you from the center of town? How do you get to those places from your hostel?
World Scholar House is in the center of Taipei, so attractions and distractions are not hard to find. We’re located in a convenient location with quite a lot of eateries around, 7-Eleven, Family Mart, Hi-Life, Supermarket etc…all these at just walking distance.
Locally, there are a number of interesting markets within walking distance, notably the Nan-Ji-Chang Night Market(南機場夜市), Long-Shan night market (Sat.- Sun till 12 midnight), the Long-shan Temple. A five minute walk to the MRT(Subway) station puts you in touch with everything Taipei has to offer, from “Taipei 101″—one of the tallest buildings in the world to the Beitou outdoor hot springs and of course the National Palace Museum with its unrivaled collection of Chinese cultural treasures.
Those with a different kind of culture in mind will find that we are a very cheap taxi ride to and from a number of lively nightlife venues
4. How far are you from Taipei 101?
–About 15 minutes. Take the Blue MRT line and get off at “Taipei City Hall”.
5. What kind of guests do you get? Which countries are they from?
–We have students, interns for businesses, teachers, and researchers who often stay for long periods of time. Our guests include Europeans, Americans, Japanese, Koreans, Australians, Chinese, …
6. Do you have private rooms with bathrooms?
Do you have a fridge or a cooking area? Do you have internet?
–All rooms at WSH are with shared bathroom. There are three bathrooms available , one on each floor – 2F/3F/4F.
The kitchen has a fridge, microwave and a hot plate, filtered hot/cold drinking water.
There is a computer free of charge and a wireless connection.
7. The hostel provides one sheet to cover the mattress and a pillowcase
(heavy blankets for cold temperatures). You must provide your own towel and any other linen. Long term guests are responsible for keeping linen and room clean.
8. Pay respect to other guests by being properly dressed in common areas.
If you have a visitor avoid being overly intimate in the hostel.
Visitors of guests must wait in the common area on 2nd floor.
Non-guests are allowed in the guest’s room.
Anyone staying in the hostel will be charged.
- If there is a change in the reservation for long term after you have arrived, there will be a fee charged for the time left on your reservation.
